Rule 7
Necessary qualifications for appointment to various posts in general service of the Nepali Army
(1) To be appointed to the following posts in the general service of the Nepali Army, which are filled through open competition, the following qualifications must be met:-
(a) For authorized cadets,–
(1) Nepalese citizens,
(2) Passed at least certificate level,
(3) In the case of those who have passed the certificate level, they have completed eighteen years of age and not exceeded twenty-one years of age by the last date of application registration, and in the case of those who have passed the graduation level, those who have completed eighteen years of age and not exceeded twenty-four years of age, but have completed at least two years of service and completed military basic training. In case, he should not exceed twenty six years till the last date of application.
(4) Height of not less than five feet three inches in case of male and not less than five feet in case of female,
(5) In the case of men, the chest is thirty-two inches when not inflated and thirty-four inches when inflated,
(6) weighing at least fifty kilograms (one and ten pounds) in the case of males and forty kilograms (eighty eight pounds) in the case of females,
(7) Qualified by medical examination,
(8) Eyes not weaker than minus two or plus two,
(9) Not having been convicted by a court of law on criminal charges that appear morally turpulous,
(10) Not currently a member of any political party,
(11) Not engaging in or engaging in any criminal activity,
(12) not being or being a member of any organization with subversive intent,
(13) Unpunished for espionage against Nepal,
(14) Impunity for violations of human rights and humanitarian law,
(15) Not dismissed from service so as to be disqualified for future government service,
(16) Unmarried in the case of others except serving military personnel.
(b) For soldiers,–
(1) A person who has completed eighteen years of age by the last date of registration of the application and has not exceeded twenty-two years of age, but in the case of military personnel working in the position of followers, a person who has not exceeded twenty-six years of age can also be a candidate.
(2) Passed eighth grade,
(3) Not less than five feet three inches in the case of males and not less than five feet in the case of females,
(4) Fifty kilograms (one and ten pounds) in case of men and forty kilograms (eighty eight pounds) in case of women,
(5) Sub-sections (1), (5), (7), (8), (9), (10), (11), (12), (13), (14), ( 15) and (16) having completed the qualification.
(6) Required for different TEDs (service groups): Additional qualifications will be as issued with the approval of the Ministry. (c) For followers,–
(1) Completed eighteen years of age up to the last date of registration of application and not exceeding twenty six years
(2) To go to read ordinary articles,
(3) In the case of men, the chest is thirty inches when not inflated and thirty-two inches when inflated,
(4) Height of not less than five feet two inches in case of male and four feet ten inches in case of female,
(5) Sub-sections (1), (6), (7), (8), (9), (10), (11), (12), (13), (14), ( 15) and (16) having completed the qualification.
(2) Regardless of what is written in clause (a) of sub-rule (1), a military person of rank and rank in the Nepali Army shall have the following qualifications to be selected as an authorized cadet through an internal competition:-
(a) Passed the entrance examination or Army First Class and Billadar Grade Two training for commissioned cadets,
(b) Passed Proficiency Certificate level or ten plus two or equivalent for rank officer cadets and trained in badger grade two and
(c) Completed seven years of service.
(3) Notwithstanding anything written in Clause (a) of Sub-rule 11), a soldier of rank and rank in the Nepali Army shall be allowed to participate in the competition for selection as an authorized cadet from the internal competition for a maximum of three times only.
